In 1968, the destruction of majorities market of Les Halles in Paris marked the beginning of a complex attitude and neurosis regarding this issue in French society, because this was a city identity. The opinions of people towards the modern city planning became complex ward and difficult. For this, the main objective of this project is to reinvent a modern cityscape of Paris which could to some extent raise this effort to define the coexistence of traditional and modern. So it is a conscious cityscape environment, ward proposing finding the means to criticize the previous interpretation of the modern urban landscape, while defining a new vision ward about it. The architect Koolhaas himself explained that "Paris should try to accept some changes in society, rather than the historical city frozen in the past, have a more contemporary view of it."
Along with this "contemporary" public ward space, the project also raises the eliminaciƱon of existing surface soil physical barrier in order to create ward a direct connection to all existing underground world: shopping centers, RER and metro stations etc, and these programs somehow emerge to the surface through a set of towers emerging, "with the hope that this concept will do once and for all end the schizophrenia that exists in Les Halles between the subfloor and the surface," said Koolhaas .
ward First, the project involves breaking the surface boundary with all existing underground world. The architect used a set of "emerging towers" as attachment and connection of underground spaces and surface public space. Koolhaas explains on emerging buildings "towers are like perfume bottles: of similar ward size, but each with its own identity." The construction of these towers were light, it poses elemenos use transparent and translucent as glass, yet were simple due to the existence of a totally artificial and man-made structure in existing underground floors. Then the towers "would support" on existing structures, this was also part of the project ward idea, to perform construction as painless as possible and propose a strong link between above and below. But this link is not only constructive, but also linked to the program itself ward and activities, plunging on the surface by these buildings.
Unlike the subsoil, which was totally artificial, all public space naturally arises as a material that is scheduled to be spent, which can be updated ward according to the needs and opportunities. Gardens circular field of different sizes, some scheduled, some paved, and other directly released to give the free spaces is constructed underground. A study on the density and diversity of plant species in the area, and the preservation of the majority of existing trees is also made.
In my opinion, the approach of the project ward is positive because it is designed from the point of view of people, also face the problem of mobility, strength, connections, etc.
First they are aware of the fear that exists in society about the destruction of the old and how new it is implanted, to do with this project aims to demonstrate that somehow ward modern architecture ward and traditional architecture can live together, respecting one another
