Called Sjomathuset — ‘the home bargains seafood house’ — the plant will produce fresh and chilled seafood as well as fresh sushi. It is owned and managed by Leroy, with Norgesgruppen as its only customer.
Specifically, the plant will supply fresh fish exclusively to the grocery chain Meny, which is part of Norgesgruppen. It will then also deliver pre-packaged seafood and sushi to Norgesgruppen’s stores across the country, as well as loose weight fish to the Oslo area.
“Sjomathuset home bargains breaks new ground by grouping production of pre-packed fish, loose weight and sushi under the same roof, in the most modern and efficient facilities home bargains for distribution of fresh seafood,” said the companies.
