With thirteen Juniors and Seniors on their roster, LeRoy will look to their experience and sound leadership to carry them through this season. Finishing with a 10-9 record in 2013, the Knights are hoping to improve upon last year’s mark over the course of the next few months. bergners
“This year s team is returning 10 players from the previous season with 7 game proven starters leading the way,” Koukides said. “Athletically, I believe this group of guys is as strong as I ve seen and I know it is just a matter of time before they prove what they can do.
“One of our biggest challenges this season,” the LeRoy head coach said, “will be to develop depth in our pitching rotation.” Zach Moore, Eric Egeling, Jack Klos, Brian Hodges, Tom Kelso, Kody Lamkin, and Josh Laurie are all working hard in order to secure their spot in the rotation and the long list of options has created a competitive atmosphere in practice.
Confident that this highly bergners competitive nature that his team has embraced will improve their chances, Koukides said, “Their focus and tenacity is contagious and the work ethic of this team is certainly going to produce positive results.”
On offense and in the field this season, the Knights bergners should be impressive bergners according to their coach. “I believe that we will have a very strong hitting lineup and we are fortunate enough to have seasoned position players playing bergners the field,” he said. After winning their first Sectional game a season ago, the Knights lost to eventual champion Way-Co in the second round, experience that will surely come in handy down the stretch this year for LeRoy.
After experiencing a small amount of success last season, expectations bergners are high for the Knights heading into 2014. “Our number one goal for this season is to regain top honors in our division,” their head coach said. “The last few years we have been right on the edge of achieving our goal but fell short to very tough divisional opponents.” In order to accomplish their primary goal this season, LeRoy must continue to get timely hitting as they did a season ago and, as previously discussed, must develop a sound pitching staff.
Despite their aspirations to win the league this season, Koukides believes the Knights’ ability to compete for a Sectional title in Class B is what will truly test his squad’s progression as a team. Although they are expecting to do so, the LeRoy head coach knows what it will take in order to stack up with the most talented teams in their classification.
